I'm Jamie. Many people know me as Mama J.
I'm a mom, a wife, a grandma, and a grief educator. In June 2024, my 19-year-old son, Wendem, died in a car accident. Nothing about my life looked the same after that.
I built The Grief Table because I could not find the honest version of grief anywhere. Everything I read seemed to want me further along than I was. I needed a place that would let grief be what it actually is.
So that is what this is. Real research on what loss does to the body and the brain. Writing that does not flinch. And a community of more than 380,000 people I teach across my platforms, who already know.
I can't replace the love and light Wendem would have put into the world, but I can reflect it.
I have two more adult children, a husband, and two grandchildren I am completely enamored with.
Whatever you are carrying, and however long you have carried it, there is room for you at this table.
